Merry Christmas

Here's my 2015 Christmas and Holiday collection. Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

Sad to realize there are very few outdoor nativity scenes around Los Angeles and the one at St. Basil has Baby Jesus locked up in a cage.

I've had fun milling around Americana on Brand this season with all the pretty lights and music and decorations.

Even downtown Glendale is well decorated.

Of course after Jesus, there's also Santa!!!

And I get presents! Even though every day is a present and blessing and a gift from God, new toys are always fun.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

The most dog friendliest place ever! Burlingame Ave

I've spent the past 2 weeks in Northern California and one place I got to go to is Burlingame Ave in the suburb of Burlimgame. Daddy grew up near the area and it's like the nice classy suburban downtown.

With wide sidewalks and dog bowls at every store, and all stores allowing dogs inside it's like the greatest place ever for dogs to walk their humans.

A lot of the restaurants have outdoor seating for our humans. So daddy ate at one of his favorite places which is The Crepe Vine.

The sweet potato fries are yummy yummy!

There's a couple of pet shops among the people stores like Banana Republic, Gap, pottery Barn. Aside from the Panda Express, there is a Petfood Express, and then a really cool place called Animal Connection where they sell unique animal items. Lots of snacks and I got a new tie collar!!!

And my Lola works in the area so I picked her up from work at the library that has lion statues outside.

But most importantly the people their and the doggies are just so friendly! And people in this side of town treat their dogs like babies, not like back home where dogs are accessories, and there's a lot of big doggies. Burlingame avenue is one of the most greatest places in the world if you are a fur baby. Hopefully I come back soon.

Bark Park Review: Centennial Way, SSF

I come up to Northern California quite often and there is a nice dog park in South City, less than a mile away from where daddy grew up in Susie Way.

It's called Centennial Way Dog Park, it's right behind the Safeway and connected to Orange Park and the Bike Trail. Daddy says when he was growing up, it was just a train track.

It's a nice long park, a good place for humans to walk themselves while we run on the wood chips and turf.

It's a short fence and only one door so there is a walk of anticipation if your coming from the Chestnut Side. If you're coming from Orange Park the door to happiness is right there.

While it's sooooo long and big, the floor is a bit funky to be all wood chips, there's not much footing if you like to run in a circle and balls don't have as much bounce. The turf is a nice surface but it is kind of narrow.

It's really nice to have a park that's close to a lot of homes especially in South City, it's along a walking trail and the biggest park so chances are, there will always be friends for Pulgoso.

It's always fun to play with Northern California dogs. They're all friendly. And no matter the weather, people and their puppy children will come by to play. I guess they're more use to misty weather here. But my daddy says it's probably the nicest thing they've put in South San Francisco since he left. He sometimes runs into his old friends here while I make new friends.
I wish there was a nice dog park within walking distance back in LA. And after you're done playing there is a Pet Club store across the street! And a Wing Stop and Round Table Pizza.

Filipino festival time!

As we know my daddy is some news dork on The Filipino Channel. So he's involved in a lot of Filipino stuff and this year he took me to the Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture also known as FPAC. It's the first time they held it in Los Angeles so I was excited to see what Grand Park and City Hall are like.

Yup daddy put me to work as a newshound on a 100 degree day.

All in all it was actually a fun day. Lots of Filipino things like entertainment and food and stuff and learning things. I enjoyed myself. The festival itself was 23 years old and is a way for the Filipino community to celebrate it's culture. At the time there wasn't too many active Filipinos in the community, so a few leaders thought it would be a good idea to have the event that entertains and educates and helps build future leaders.

I finally got to meet some of my Facebook likers and daddy's friends. Like Janet and Ruben Nepales from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It was like Pulgoso the Golden retriever meets the Golden Globes.

Tito Ruben also has this picture on his FB with Rhea who drives the Neri's Curbside Cravings truck that has tocino burgers. She was cool cuz she smelled like silog! Too bad they ran out by the time we saw them.

(It's that lady in the middle's fault daddy has bistek burger breath sometimes!!!)

And Tita Kat from Bakit Why. But she didn't bring Snowy and Bibinka :(

(Got this pic from Kat's FB)

And also Ninja Realtor Tita Mia McCleod! Her baby Annie also goes to Doc Felix Lapuz.

And daddy's friend Mr. Palma was at the veteranairan booth and took this picture. Pulgoso should be a dog food model!

The park itself was great. Very scenic and I like how I can listen to music at the FPAC stage while I roam the dog park.

And the water fountain alllll the way at the top was also lovely. Too bad puppies can go swimming. But snuck on the tubig enough to get my kamays wet.

It even changes color!!!

Pulgoso had a grand old time at FPAC in Grand Park! I learned what it's like to be a Filipino! I want to chew on the arnis stick. Hopefully next year it won't be super hot and we can go more and meet more of daddy's Filipino friends!

One Year Ago

It was exactly a year ago. September 30, 2013. I was a four month old pup hanging out at the breeder's house when an Asian couple came in. I knew they were my mommy and daddy from the moment I saw them. After a nap in the back of a Prius I woke up in an exotic land called Glendale.

My first night with my parents.

This was no longer Lancaster but also God's blessings at work. I made so many new happy friends from the moment I stepped paw in Glendale as soon as I got over my fear of the loud big city noises.

But little did I know that my balls would come into play. You see, the breeder didn't tell my parents about a strange condition I was born with. My balls were kinda stuck in my stomach. Maybe that's why I stayed around. Why would a breeder let a handsome puppy like me go off? By the time my parents found out, a few days later it was too late. We were already family.

The issue remained though, with my balls stuck in tummy, it would be cancerous and my broke daddy doesn't have enough money for a costly procedure. A few days later, a blessing happened. While daddy brought me to work, we met Doc Felix Lapuz a very active Filipino community member and a well respected veterinarian. A few months later, Doc Felix not only did the rare surgery at a low price, but all the money spent, was given to the ABS-CBN Foundation. Perfect timing because in November the terrible Typhoon Yolanda happened.

Daddy says my balls saved the Philippines.

It's amazing how God works. When you think about it, I would've ended up nowhere with the breeder. I'm useless to her, with my testicle disorder. But when I was blessed with my parents, it saved my life and opened the door for me to help others.

And while the surgery was a one time deal, my parents say everyday that I'm a blessing, making people, even strangers happy.

Just recently I've kept my Lolo (grandpa) company while he recovered from his small heart attack. It makes me happy when I can help others and see other people and animals happy. It's amazing where life takes you. It's been one year since I found a home with these Filipino people, and in that year, it's just been countless miracles every day.

Petsmart Laborday Sale!!!

So after a fun day of going to the Pasadena Dog park, we found a Petsmart near by. And being Labor Day weekend, the sale was awesome!!!!

Daddy went crazy!!!

All puppy apparel and costumes were 40% off!!!!

You're right! Hello Kitty is not a cat. I'm Hello Kitty!!! Daddy says it's like the best $10 he's ever spent.

Daddy has a weird obsession with Hello Kitty. I can explain it. He says were gonna adopt a white cat and name it Hello.

He also went nuts on Halloween costumes. He bought 2.

I'm Winnie the Puuuu-lgoso!!!

He also got a SpiderMan but he's saving that for later. He did get me some treats also. I guess I'll act like a real bear and go rummaging through the garbage can. Move over Meatball.
